Photo Galleries F.A.Q.

Can I submit a photo to BayPhotos.com?

Yes, use this form to contact us first.  Do not just email us a photo.  We will email you instructions after you fill out our form.

Is there a charge?

No.

I submitted a photo but I can’t find it on the site?

Make sure you contact us before emailing any photos.  Any photos received unexpectedly are deleted.  Due to the volume of photos that we take ourselves and receive online, we only upload photos every 2 weeks during the boating season.   After we’ve posted your photo we will email you to let you know it is online.

Can I have my own gallery on BayPhotos.com?

While we don’t mind sharing your bay photos with our visitors we can’t host them all.  We can help you set up your own personal web gallery at no charge, just contact us.  If you’re a Bay area marine business and you want your own gallery please contact us.

I’m a professional photographer and I have photos of the Bay to sell, can you help?

Yes, just contact us first and we can set up a small gallery within our site with low resolution photos for you with links to your site.  We will not sell your photos for you on our site.

Is This Your Boat F.A.Q.

I saw a picture of my boat, how do I purchase it?

Just use the contact us form or call 410-562-0868.

How many pictures do you take of boats?

It varies, but we usually try to get at least 6 to 10 photos of every boat we pass while we're cruising.  If you have hired us by the hour though we can take hundreds of digital photos.

Do I get prints or just a digital file?

Photography Services F.A.Q.

How do I arrange for a photo shoot?

Simply fill out the contact us form or call 410-562-0868.

How do we pay?

We accept cash, check and PayPal.  50% is due up front on all photo shoots.  The other 50% is due after you proof your digital photos or prints.

How long before we receive our files?

Most files are delivered right away, we burn them to a cd or dvd right after the shoot.  If we have to send you your photos or prints we ship UPS and delivery can be up to 2 weeks depending on what size print you order.

I just want one photo while I’m docked or cruising into Baltimore, how long does it take to get it?

All single shots and Is This Your Boat photos are delivered via email right after payment has been received.  If you catch us on the water and pay cash we’ll email you the files as soon as we return to port.  If our wireless internet access is working then we can email it right away!

What kinds of photo shoots do you offer?

Please see our packages for more information.  If you hire us by the hour we’ll take any kind of photos you want.  Fishing, skiing, going under a raised bridge, sunrise and sunset photos, it’s all up to your imagination.

Do you offer aerial photos?

No, our boats do not fly.

What’s the difference between the aerial photos taken by a helicopter and your photos?

Simply put, our prices are a lot cheaper, we offer many different sizes of prints, we give you more options for backgrounds and choices of shots as we take many more photos.

Plus, we're out on the water every weekend around Baltimore taking pictures so you have a better chance of getting your picture taken and our by the hour prices are also a lot cheaper.

Do you offer prints?

Yes, you can get prints up to 13" x 19" right from us, but we can get prints done up to 40.75” x 72”.

All prints up to 13” x 19” are handled in house and can be at your door within 5 business days.  Larger prints are printed offsite, then sent to us to proof, then delivered to you.  This takes around 2 weeks.

How long do you keep the files in case I want to purchase more?

Any files that were taken but not purchased are saved for two years.  All purchased files should be backed up as we do not keep copies.

What type of file will I get?

Our equipment saves photos in the .jpg format.  If you want your photos in another format just let us know ahead of time.

What areas of the Chesapeake Bay do you currently cover?

We cover the entire western shore of the Bay from Annapolis to Pooles Island and the Eastern Shore from Kent Narrows to Fairlee Creek.

I have a boat and love photography, are you hiring?

Can I hire you and your boat so I can take some of my own photos?
